During the most difficult of times, much of what gives us hope and propels us forward is the unity of the Jewish community. We are lucky enough in New Orleans to have strong leaders who reach across organizations and draw disparate groups together, and few such leaders are as ubiquitous as Vivian and Richard Cahn. Whenever Jews celebrate in New Orleans, the Cahns are there. When Jews face challenges and draw together for strength, the Cahns are there. They are friends to so many of us, and their support for Jewish Community Day School has been enriching our students’ experience for many years. Not only do they support the school, but they push us to venture out and connect with the broader Jewish community. We are incredibly grateful for the difference Vivian and Richard have made in the lives of our students, as well as the difference they will continue to make in the future.
